Eulogies is a choral work by Juno-nominated contemporary composer John Estacio for which he was awarded the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors’ National Choral Award for Outstanding Choral Composition. This 24-minute a capella piece for SATB voices is set to four of Val’s poems: Raymond; Mrs. Deegan; Not an Eye on the Island is Dry; Ella Sunlight
Premiered in 2000 by Pro Coro Canada at All Saints' Anglican Cathedral, Edmonton, Richard Sparks conducting, Eulogies continues to be widely performed, both live and on radio, in Canada, US, and Europe by choirs including Elmer Iseler Singers, Pro Coro Canada, Amadeus Choir, MacMillan Singers, Da Camera Singers, I Coristi Chamber Choir, DaCapo Chamber Choir, and Cantare Con Vivo.
